Apparently, JDM tuner Spoon Sports was also affected by the Japanese Tsunami. Here’s a car photo of their Acura RSX Type R race car which was found 3 miles away from the Spoon Sports shop. So sad.

The Palatov DP4 is a track-ready, open-air, light-weight track car featuring a Chromoly TIG welded frame, Ohlines non-adjustable shocks, Wilwood 10.25″ vented brakes with 4-piston calipers, Quaife ATB differential, advanced under-body aerodynamics, a long arm double wishbone suspension, a form-fitted BBS seat, 13″ x 8″ wheels with Hoosier racing tires and a six-point racing harness. The Palatov DP4 is powered by a variety of motorcycle engines with typical configurations using 1.0 liter or 1.3 liters that produce anywhere from 175 to 200 horsepower. An optional all-wheel drive system is also available that allows the use of high power turbocharged engines of over 300 horsepower. Typical weights for the Palatov DP4 are in the 800 to 900 lbs (360-410 kg) range resulting in exceptional performance. Pricing for the Palatov DP4 ranges between $30,910 and $55,460 depending on options.

The 2011 Porsche 918 RSR Hybrid features a mid-mounted 3.4 liter twin turbo V8 engine developed for the Porsche RS Spyder LMP2 racer. The engine is tuned to produce 563 horsepower at 10,300 rpm. In addition to the gasoline engine, two electric motors powering the front wheels boost power output to 767 horsepower. Very cool!
