Lexus releases the all new 2011 Lexus CT 200h Premium Compact Hybrid for sale in the United States. The 2011 Lexus CT 200h is a sporty five-door that is powered by a 1.8 liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder gas engine with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) and Lexus Hybrid Drive technology. The Lexus Hybrid Drive technology features two motor generators. Each motor performs specific functions and can operate as both a motor and generator. The engine-driven generator charges the battery pack and can also provide additional power to the drive motor as needed. The drive motor is driven by electrical power from the generator or the hybrid battery pack and provides motive force for the front wheels. Lexus placed the hybrid battery pack under the rear cargo area within the wheelbase for optimized balance. Standard safety features include an eight airbag supplemental restraint system, anti-lock brake system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA) and vehicle stability control (VSC) and TRAC (helps optimize traction to help prevent the drive wheels from spinning while accelerating under slippery conditions). Interior features include leather seating, a wide grip sport steering wheel, an optional moonroof and an optional hard disc drive (HDD) Lexus Navigation system with back-up camera, voice command and bluetooth connectivity.
