Bentley will be offering a newly developed V8 engine for their iconic Bentley Continental GT coupe and the Bentley Continental GTC convertible for 2013. The engine will be a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 500 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque. The new 2013 Bentley Continental GT engine will be capable of hitting a top speed of 180 mph while be able to travel more than 500 miles on a single tank of gas due to a cylinder deactivation feature that allows the engine to run on just four out of the eight cylinders during low load driving situations. A reduction in fuel consumption also comes from a new close-ratio eight-speed automatic transmission and Torsen differential with 40:60 rear-biased split that also boosts acceleration. …
